Marc Koegel has been mesmerized with black and white ever since he first got started with photography. For his entire career, he has been working in black and white exclusively.

In this presentation, Marc will talk about the intricacy of black and white photography using his own photographic journey as a case study.  He will address questions such as why he chooses to work in B+W, how B+W differs from colour, how to compose for B+W, and how best to setup your camera for capturing B+W photographs. He will show and discuss many of his award-winning photographs created in Japan, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Newfoundland and the Pacific West Coast (Tofino) during the presentation and explain relevant information about how each was created.
