For the purposes of this competition we are defining macro as "close-up" photography where the subject appears much larger than in real-life. True Macro is defined as being 1:1 magnification or larger. This means that a 35 mm wide subject should fill the width of a 35 mm full-frame sensor. For the purpose of this competition we will accept 1/2 life size or larger. This can be achieved by many lenses and requires less specialized equipment than true macro.
